On national holiday, May 4, several public transport routes and order of using tickets will be changed in Riga
“Rīgas satiksme” informs that on May 4 there will be changes in the work of public transport, parkings lots and customer service centres, as well as in the use of working day tickets.
Public transport (trams, trolleybuses, buses)
On May 4 public transport (buses, trolleybuses, trams) will run according to holiday schedules.
There will be the following changes in the public transport traffic due to the Republic of Latvia Independence Restoration Day and the opening of the Latvian National Museum of Arts:
- Bus No. 11 will run from Abrenes Street by the route to Merķeļa Street, then in Merķeļa Street, Brīvības Boulevard, Brīvības Street, Bruņinieku Street, K. Valdemāra Street and further by the route. On the changed route the bus will stop at stops “Ģertrūdes Street” and “Riga 1st hospital”, but will not stop at stop “Tērbatas Street”.In direction of Abrenes Street the bus will run by the route to K. Valdemāra Street, then in K. Valdemāra Street, Elizabetes Street, Brīvības Boulevard, Raiņa Boulevard and further by the route. On the changed route in direction of the centre the bus will stop at trolleybus stop “Esplanade” and at stop of buses No. 3, 6 and 9 “Freedom Monument”.
- Buses No. 37, 41 and 53 will run to Esplanade by the route to K. Valdemāra Street, then inK. Valdemāra Street, Raiņa Boulevard, Brīvības Boulevard, turn about at the crossing with Elizabetes Street to run in the opposite direction, then run in Brīvības Boulevard to Esplanade. On the changed route the buses will stop at stop “Raiņa Boulevard”.
- Trolleybus No. 3 will run from the Central Market by the route to Merķeļa Street, then in Merķeļa Street, Brīvības Street, Bruņinieku Street and further by the route. In direction of the Central Market trolleybuses will run by the route to K. Valdemāra Street, then in K. Valdemāra Street, Elizabetes Street, Brīvības Boulevard, Raiņa Boulevard and further by the route. On the changed route the trolleybus will stop at stop “Ģertrūdes Street” and “Riga 1st hospital”.On the changed route in direction of the centre the trolleybus will stop at trolleybus stop “Esplanade”.
- Trolleybus No. 5 will run in direction of Pārdaugava by the route to K. Valdemāra Street, then in K. Valdemāra Street, Elizabetes Street, Brīvības Boulevard, Kalpaka Boulevard, K. Valdemāra Street and further by the route. On the changed route the trolleybus will stop at trolleybus stop “Esplanade”.
From Pauls Stradiņš Hospital the trolleybus will run by the route to K. Valdemāra Street, then in K. Valdemāra Street, Raiņa Boulevard, Brīvības Street, Bruņinieku Street, K. Valdemāra Street and further by the route. On the changed route in direction of Daugava stadium the trolleybus will stop at stop “Raiņa Boulevard”, „Tērbatas Street”, „Ģertrūdes Street” and “Riga 1st hospital”.
- Trolleybus No. 12 will run in direction of Pārdaugava by the route to Brīvības Street, then in Brīvības Street, Kalpaka Boulevard, K. Valdemāra Street and further by the route. On the changed route in direction of Āgenskalna priedes the trolleybus will stop at stop „Ģertrūdes Street” and trolleybus stop “Esplanade”.
- Trolleybus No. 25 will run in direction of Pārdaugava by the route to Brīvības Street, then in Brīvības Street, Kalpaka Boulevard, K. Valdemāra Street and further by the route. On the changed route in direction of Iļģuciems the trolleybus will stop at stops „Ģertrūdes Street” and “Esplanade”. In direction of Brīvības Street the trolleybus will run by the route to K. Valdemāra Street, then in K. Valdemāra Street, Raiņa Boulevard, Brīvības Street, Bruņinieku Street, K. Valdemāra Street and further by the route. On the changed route in direction of the city centre the trolleybus will stop at stops “Raiņa Boulevards”, „Tērbatas Street”, „Ģertrūdes Street” un “Riga 1st hospital”.
Tickets
Passengers having bought tickets for working days should take into account that these tickets will not be valid on May 4.
Customer service centres
On May 4 all customer service centres of „Rīgas satiksme” will be closed.
Please take into account that on May 3 the customer service centre of „Rīgas satiksme” at Brīvības Street 49/53 will be open from 8:00 till 17:00, other customer service centres will be open as usually, from 9:00 till 19:00.
On May 3 legal persons will be served in the customer service centre at Brīvības Street 191 from 8:00 till 16:00.
Parking lots
On May 4 all pay parking lots of Riga municipality operated by „Rīgas satiksme” will be available free of charge except the underground parking lot at K.Valdemāra Street 5a next to the House of Congresses, where parking services will be charged for according to the existing tariffs.
Minibuses
On May 4 minibuses will run according to Sunday and holiday schedules.
There will be the following changes in the minibus traffic due to the Republic of Latvia Independence Restoration Day and the opening of the Latvian National Museum of Arts:
- Minibuses No. 200 and 224 will run from Railway Terminal Square by the route to Merķeļa Street, then in Merķeļa Street, Brīvības Boulevard, Brīvības Street, Dzirnavu Street, K. Valdemāra Street and further by the route.
- Minibus No. 236 will run from Zolitūde by the route to K. Valdemāra Street, then in K. Valdemāra Street, Raiņa Boulevard, Brīvības Boulevard, Brīvības Street, Dzirnavu Street, Baznīcas Street and further by the route.
- Minibus No. 237 will run from Imanta by the route to K. Valdemāra Street, then in K. Valdemāra Street, Raiņa Boulevard, Brīvības Boulevard, Brīvības Street, Dzirnavu Street, Baznīcas Street, Stabu Street and further by the route.
- Minibus No. 241 will run from the Airport by the route to K. Valdemāra Street, then in K. Valdemāra Street, Raiņa Boulevard, Brīvības Boulevard, turn about to run in the opposite direction, then run in Brīvības Boulevard and further by the route to Esplanade.
